Two interesting articles appeared in yesterdays Independent newspaper here and here. They are both on the same subject, i.e the upcoming legislation on the possession of offensive images but both are on opposite sides of the coin.

Personally, I fully agree with Jerome Taylor who has, previously looked at the way BDSM is portrayed in the UK media. He seems to be quite in synch with the way most people within the BDSM and fetish scene think whilst Deborah Orr would seem to be a mouthpiece for the moral majority and Christian Right!

Her argument that we already have laws in place that restrict behaviour in BDSM, whilst correct, seem to be that they are fit and proper laws and completely disregard the work done by Spanner over many years to get the laws overturned. The UK has some of the most draconian laws in place that relate to consensual sexual behaviour and the new laws coming in are, sadly, another set of badly written statutes that were done with emotion rather than logic.

I, with many others, now wonder if our own personal collection of porn is legal or not and I suspect a lot of disk formatting will be going on over the next few weeks.

BDSM Gadgets

By typing BDSM into the Addictomatic website, I came across a fantastic posting from the gizmondo website!

I particularly like the Master R's four poster play-frame and am seriously tempted to purchase one for my own bedroom to play more at home! Imagine the pleasure of having one and of course the hidden pleasure of vanilla friends not really knowing what you had in your bedroom when they came around!

A Christmas Poem

Nothing to do with fetish or BDSM but still poignant and probably my favourite Christmas poem.

Advent 1955

The Advent wind begins to stir
With sea-like sounds in our Scotch fir,
It's dark at breakfast, dark at tea,
And in between we only see
Clouds hurrying across the sky

Hypno Domination

I have long held a curiosity about the while Hypno Domme thing and what it entailed. Mainly I think out of my seemingly endless desire to try new things of a sexual and BDSM flavour. But, like a lot of things I had not gotten round to it just yet. It seems to be widely practiced (with a large number of online Mistresses seeming to offer it) and a few Pro-Dommes I know personally would seem to have it as part of their repertoire.

However, quite how I am not sure, I came across this blog from Mindfields College. Watching some of the video clips on it, and listening to the very clear presentation, it has without doubt put me 100% off the idea. When you start to realise that that actually, a lot of what is said by hypno-therapists is just there to cover the unknown, it is something to be very wary of. The ability to access my deepest consciousness is not really something I want to happen. It is worth looking at the couple of videos on the page if you are considering seeing a Hypno-Domme as it will make you want to ask many questions I am sure.

When did I become so needy!!

It sort of crept up on me without warning. But suddenly, I found myself needy. I crave contact, anything from Mistress. I need to know she has read my message, that my words have pleased her. But nothing...no response, no indication. Then of course the self doubt creeps in and with that the fears and feelings that soon it will all be over despite assurances that nothing has changed, that things will go on and only get better.

I have never been needy, but I suspect I have never felt this way about someone and to suddenly find myself in this situation is a new and complicated set of emotions.

The worse agony

I cannot count the hours I have spent on my knees in session and otherwise. Over the years it must add up to a days on end. Coupled with a love of skiing my knees have taken quite a battering over the years.

Yesterday, I woke up and as I straightened my leg I was in severe pain as I realised straight away that I had somehow twisted my knee. This is just to much and as I thought about it, hobbling around the house, I thought that this is probably the worse thing that can happen to a submissive. How can I adopt the position of submission with a screwed up knee!

I am awaiting an appointment to the physio who hopefully will sort it out but until then, kneeling is not on the agenda.

You can be a Pro and still be in charge

I love this post by Ms Slide. To me, it is the best definition of the relationship between a Professional Mistress and a paying submissive I have seen. So many posts you see out there seem to argue that because the client pays he (and it usually a he) is in effect topping and controlling the session. But that argument has never felt right to me and Ms Slide, better than anyone, has shown me why.

Whilst Bitchy Jones (whose blog I really do like) rants on often about Pro-Dommes and why in her view they are wrong, Ms Slide has offered up a view that makes sense and shows that females are still in charge.
